The Meditation of Doing

One of the biggest misunderstandings of meditation that I’ve found, both in myself and others, is that to meditate, one must sit silently and do nothing for a specific period of time.

If you’re a naturally “still” person, this can be bliss in, and of, itself.

If you’re a more active kind of person, this can be friggin booooooooooring!

(Ironically, that boredom might be exactly what you need to master your inner stillness!)

However, meditation isn’t just sitting in lotus position on a yoga mat on the floor and breathing in incense.

Bubbles Of Yuck

As we’ve covered in other posts, our minds tend to translate certain aspects of our reality into ways that we may more readily understand.

The key to getting these translations from your subconscious is to simply “listen,” by which I mean, just quieten your mind for a bit and just observe.

In this particular exercise, we are going to play with one of those “translations”, but we’re going to do so by giving our subconscious mind the metaphor through which to work.

Getting an Experience With The Higher Self

Spirit guides, guardian angels, Higher Self, God Self, Holy Spirit…

My experiences suggest that they are all one and the same; furthermore that they are aspects of our very being.

In truth, what we may call our “Spirit Guide” we may very well call our “Higher Self” or our “Higher Consciousness”.

We may even call it simply “I AM.”
